Three months ago, a brand I admire rejected my training proposal for their international teams.
Most of my clients come through referrals, but a junior member from this brand reached out cold after seeing me on TikTok.
After the rejection, I followed up and offered to revise the proposal. No response.
A month later, I checked in, asking whether they had found a trainer.
I received a polite no, but no sign of interest.
So… I waited another month.
This time, I sent them this newsletter, which addressed one of the communication challenges we discussed.
I said it made me think of them, and suggested a conversation with a decision-maker.
This week, I am scheduled to speak with someone from their executive team.
This experience reminded me we are all asking for things all the time. It might be a new client, a new job, support for an idea, or a schedule change.
Every one of those requests gets answered with a yes or a no.
This week's newsletter is about understanding "no" does not mean "never."
I want to reframe your thinking so that you can assess in the moment if “no” just means “not now.”
